The Maternity Leave Plan

Here I am, 6 weeks into my maternity leave. I feel extremely lucky to have almost 6 months off - and I want to make sure I use this time well. The last time I had so much time off work was when I was unemployed and unfortunately, I spent most of that time watching bad daytime television. In order to make sure that does not happen again, I made myself a schedule and set some goals. Sharing here for accountability!!

Goals:
1) learn to knit (make cutie baby booties)
2) read 6 books
3) take at least 4 online classes (through Coursera.org)
4) learn 2 new piano pieces (i haven't played in months and want to get back to it so bad)
5) learn to sew (at the very least, learn to hem pants)

Weekday Schedule
6:00am - 7am: wakeup, get ready, prepare breakfast for the family
7:00am-8:00am: wakeup my toddler, feed him, get him ready for daycare & attend to my newborn's needs
8:00am-9:30am: Drive toddler to daycare and come back home
9:30am-1030am: workout
10:30am - 12:30pm: ME TIME (shower, watch tv, have a cup of coffee, have lunch, hang with friends)
12:30pm - 1:30pm: nap
1:30 - 3:30pm:  DAILY ACTIVITY**
3:30pm - 4:30pm: pack lunches for next day, prep dinner,
4:30pm: head to daycare to pick up toddler
5:30-9:00pm:  dinner, bath time, story time, cleaning up the kitchen and relaxing.
9:00pm: shower, read
10pm: sleep

**DAILY ACTIVITY
Mondays: laundry (towels, bedding, clothes)
Tuesday: cook 2-3 dishes
Wednesday: online classes
Thursday: online classes (1 hr), piano (1hr)
Friday: grocery shopping

I know this is a bit ambitious - but I'm going to do my best to follow this plan. I realize I didn't put any time in there to take care of my baby - but I will obviously be attending to her needs whenever she is not sleeping.

Wish me luck!!
